🎵🎶BREAKING NEWS 🎶🎵

Darlington Folk & Acoustic Club has been made an offer by the Manchester Camerata.  They are coming to Darlington Hippodrome on Monday 25th November to do a folk-inspired concert, and they have asked if they could offer a workshop to local folk musicians working on performance skills.  This would be on the morning of Saturday 23rd November at the Forum Music Centre in Darlington. The Monday concert is led by violinist Donald Grant and his band.  Their performance of 'The Night Overtook Us' explores Scottish folk music and a new piece by Donald, bringing his band and Manchester Camerata together for what promises to be a wonderful evening of music. https://www.darlingtonhippodrome.co.uk/whats-on/Manchester-Camerata-The-Night-Overtook-Us

For the Saturday workshop, Donald and the group are seeking up to 30 local performers.  They need to charge a fee for the workshop and have proposed £15, but that includes (I think) free entry to the Monday concert. If you are interested in this, please contact Simon Nicholson ( snicholson13P@gmail.com ) or talk to him at the Rolling Mills this on the Singaround on the 24th October 2024.

Folk Roundabout

The Home of Acoustic Clubs & Acoustic Open Mic Nights, Folk Music, Folk Dance & Customs...

Anything live with no backing tracks!

Regardless of whether you need to use music, tablets, etc . Orchestras do, so I have no problem with that. it does not detract from the sheet joy of song/poems etc.

I am finding myself visiting as many clubs as I can to share them with you, so if you don't see me for a while, that's why.

I am also big believer in keeping our Heritage Alive.
