IN LOVING MEMORY OF STEWART McFARLANE, MBE


Stewart McFarlane, MBE passed away 1st November 2020 aged 80years.

Stewart, Big Mac (the Human Hamburger) stalwart of folk music in the Teesside region did a lot of work to enhance folk music in the North/North East of England. 

From the BBC to Commercial radio, he presented Focus on Folk and The Saturday Show as well as making many appearances at local events to help clubs promote folk throughout the area. 

Stew was one of the very successful group, The Teesside Fettlers, performing traditional and locally written songs mainly about Teesside, Durham and North Yorkshire.
