I'd gone on the nice chap from Brotherton's recommendation, as it was the pub’s first open Mic Night.
I went in, and some Bikers were happily playing pool, and they immediately greeted me and were perfect gentlemen, and I felt very comfortable.
They did say that some people come into the pub, see the Bikers (Who are Satan’s Slaves) and walk out again. Never judge a book by it’s cover, as one singer did a while back, after doing heavy metal songs, and was taken aback when one Gentleman asked if he had any Neil Diamond!
The pub has a 99 year old lease, and they are hoping to make everyone welcome, and are planning on offering the Ukelele People a place to have a club too. Acoustic sing-arounds are also planned.
They also support and encourage young people too, and that is planned to be a seperate event, as we all need the youngsters to enjoy live music and keep the Music Clubs going.
It also has Disabled Access via a side door, and a toilet for the Disabled as well.
It is also dog friendly!
It was a very appreciative audience, and they joined in with the songs, like any other club, such wonderful people and they were, like anyone else, just friends I had not yet met.
