A TYPICAL WEEK

Running This website keeps me on my toes, and hence the Mon-Wed mornings I can commit to for admin.

I don’t sit writing articles, I make films, and that’s what goes on in the background.

Printed copies are fine and dandy, but as soon as they are printed, they are out of date. I make so many films as they are my version of articles, but it’s live music, interview and songs.

So, when not hitting the road for a other road trip, here is a typical week, I’ll use the past week in July 2025 as an example:

SATURDAY

Morden & Bradbury Summer Party 5th July 2025

A quintessentially beautiful village, the summer party had lots of activities both the Adults & Children, and the Gastric Band were performing.

I was very honoured to support these lads (payment- a fairy cake), and we decided to try out our version of Rumer’s “I can’t Go For That (No can Do)

I finally got the meet the lovely Wives of some band members, and felt at ease with them immediately - what wonderful people and what a great way to spend a Summer’s Saturday afternoon, with lovely, friendly people.

SUNDAY

A new open mic! I decided to go to Beamish to enjoy a night with Jonny Boyle as the host.

Great to see Wendy back - as well as trhe lad did to cover for her, they didn't look quite right in dresses......

Like Brigadoon, this only happens once in a while....well, every other month to be precise.

WEDNESDAY

A rehearsal in the Grand , Bishop Auckland with the little trio Aka “Cod’s Wollop!” After 4 hours of hours playing guitar and singing, home for a quick pit stop then then to another regular haunt, the Candlelite.

I sang two of my songs there:

FRIDAY

Not quite a day of rest, I don’t do sunshine, it’s only good for laundry in my view, so this old cottage is the best place to be, in the office, processing films for the website.

SATURDAY

Being alone, and no one to do anything with can be lonely, but I lose myself into songwriting, letting my mind run free. After all, it's not easy writing songs unless you are fed up.

Inspiration some from all sorts of places, the past, the present, the future.

People, places, dreams.

I never know what is going to come out of my heads onto paper, so I usually surprised.
