It is Always interesting to go to a Folk Club that I would not normally go to. Being a Singer/Songwriter, it hides that fact, that apart from the Squaddie Shuffle (best done in DMS/Combat Boots – I was that Soldier) that I cannot dance.

I do understand that it is a great way to keep fit and meet people but thought it better to actually go and visit a club in person to see what goes on behind the doors.

I had a very warm welcome, and the people were lovely and chatty. I felt very relaxed about meeting room of strangers, not one guitar in sight, and enjoyed the lovey dances, which I could imagine happening all those many years ago.

People of all ages, heights etc were happily dancing. What’s not to like?
